Hildegard van Zyl

Our first General Counsel, Hildegard, joined Verne in December 2022. Although she started as a financial services attorney with Davis Polk in New York (2008), she soon developed a keen interest in IT services and all aspects of tech law after joining Amazon (2015) and later Atos (2020). Hildegard has practised law and completed a range of multi-million dollar deals in New York, Australia, Luxembourg and the U.K., in both public and private sectors. Hildegard is passionate about sustainability and biodiversity and thrilled to support Verne in its commitment to sustainability. She holds a BA (French and Philosophy) and an LLB from the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa) and is admitted to the New York Bar.
