AI and HPC Field Trip to Iceland (23-25 October 2018)

Posted by Adam Nethersole

Verne Global is excited to announce we will be running an AI and HPC Field Trip to Iceland between the 23-25 October. The Field Trip will bring a select group of European and North American AI pioneers together to share insight, network and showcase how AI communities in Iceland are pushing the boundaries of AI and deep neural network development.

With the rapid convergence of AI and high performance computing (HPC), delegates will also be able to tour Verne Global's HPC optimised campus and view our infrastructure and GPU-powered solutions that have been specifically designed to cater for the extreme workloads characterised by AI. Verne Global is increasingly becoming the popular choice for intensive machine learning based compute and recent client wins include DeepL, Analytic Engineering and Satavia.

Verne Global is also delighted to have the considerable support of Iceland's Center for Analysis and Design of Intelligent Agents (CADIA) and the Icelandic Institute of Intelligent Machines (IIIM). Field Trip delegates will have the unique opportunity to tour both facilities and watch presentations led by Dr. Kristinn Thórisson, Ph.D, Professor at Reykjavik University's School of Computer Science, and IIIM Managing Director.

Interested in attending?

Attendance at the Field Trip is invitee only, and if you are working within the fields of Ai, machine learning and/or deep neural networks, and are interested in attending please contact the Field Trip host, Bob Fletcher, Verne Global's VP of Strategy ( The provisional agenda, delegate list and travel/accommodation details are available on request from Bob.

We look forward to welcoming you to Iceland!
